Planning a wedding is easier when the venue helps with the major pieces from the start. At The Waterfall, we host weddings for couples across Delaware, Wilmington, Philadelphia, South Jersey, and nearby areas. Our team helps with the ceremony, reception, catering, lighting, cake, and event flow, so you can spend less time managing details and more time enjoying the day. You bring your photographer, DJ, and florist. We handle the rest, from the ceremony through the final dance.
The Waterfall in Delaware offers weddings in two distinct ballrooms, the Grand Ballroom with marble columns and a signature waterfall patio and the Cascade Ballroom with French doors and adjacent gardens, with in-house catering covering cocktail hour stations, plated entrees, and a tiered wedding cake. An event coordinator, bridal attendant, and maitre d support the day, and outside caterers are permitted for cultural celebrations including Indian weddings.
What Planning a Wedding at The Waterfall Looks Like
There’s a lot that goes into a wedding day, and most of it happens behind the scenes. When you book with us, that’s exactly where it stays. We coordinate the details so you can focus on the people in the room and the moment in front of you.
Choosing Your Space
The Waterfall has two ballrooms, each with its own look and layout. The Grand Ballroom offers a larger setting with Roman Corinthian marble columns, crystal chandeliers, a marble dance floor, and access to the Grand Ballroom Patio with the signature waterfall.
The Cascade Ballroom has a different feel, with natural light, custom arched French doors, Tiffany accents, a hand-carved marble dance floor, and adjacent outdoor gardens. Those gardens can be used for ceremonies, cocktail service, or cigar smoking.
Each ballroom has its own outdoor garden, private restrooms, and private suite for getting ready or stepping away during the event. If the weather does not allow for an outdoor ceremony, we can also host the ceremony indoors in the reception space and flip the room during cocktail hour.
Food and Menu Options
Food is one of the main things guests remember after a wedding, and we give couples a wide range of choices. Cocktail hour includes passed hors d’oeuvres, culinary stations, and a Toscano table consisting of selections such as caprese salad, hummus spread, assorted cheeses, grilled vegetables, fresh fruit, seafood salad, and artisan meats.
Station options may include pasta, Pan Asian selections, carving station items, South of the Border selections, sliders, smokehouse items, vegan selections, and more. Many stations include choices, so your menu can better match your guests.
Some of our most popular entree selections include Chicken Oscar with jumbo lump crab meat and seafood cream sauce, Beef Short Ribs with roasted garlic and plum tomatoes, and Filet of Scottish Salmon with several preparation options. Upgrade options are also available for couples who want additional selections.
Dessert includes more than cake. Wedding packages include a tiered buttercream cake through the bakery partners, along with dessert station options such as a Viennese table, chocolate fountain, Belgian waffle and ice cream sundae station, milkshake and root beer float station, and international coffee bar.
Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are available. We also allow outside caterers, especially for Indian weddings and other cultural celebrations, where specific cuisine is important to the event.
Staff and What They Actually Do
Our team helps manage the event flow so you are not trying to direct the day yourself. Your event may include support from an event coordinator, bridal attendant, captain, and Maitre’D, depending on the details of your celebration.
The goal is simple: keep the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception moving clearly so you and your guests know where to go and what comes next.
Ceremony Options
Couples who want an outdoor ceremony can use the landscaped gardens, which include marble water fountains, columns, a gazebo, and a bridge. After the ceremony, guests can move through arched French doors into the rotunda and then into the cocktail space.
If the weather changes, we can host the ceremony indoors in the reception space. The team can then flip the room back during cocktail hour, so the day can continue without guests feeling like the plan changed at the last minute.
Conclusion
Your wedding should feel organized, comfortable, and personal to you. At The Waterfall, our team helps with the major pieces of the day, from ceremony flow and catering to reception timing and guest experience.
